Post #1 Locked Out of (Your Own) Internet Accounts While Traveling? (Part 1)

Been locked out of your own email/social media account(s) during international travel because unable to ‘prove that you are you’? Couldn’t access my own accounts while traveling recently. Frustrating. So if you (like me) might like some alternate (better) ideas, maybe follow my posts on this subject.
At home I maintain a low cost pay as you go smartphone account; it’s still everything I need while staying in place. My current *travel* smartphone needs could be met by the ability to complete 2nd step verifications for my online accounts (I travel with a laptop). In my opinion my service provider does not seem to offer a simple, low cost travel option for my smartphone account for doing this (I asked them again recently).
Or service provider could perhaps let us log in to note to them our travel plans.  Too easy, maybe. Some people purchase *multiple* SIM cards & change them out when changing locations. Not if I can avoid it.Possible solution: I have heard of a ‘pay as you go SIM card’, so have wondered:  (a) is this relatively simple/inexpensive to use? & (b) can one pay as you go SIM card cover for multiple international locations?
Kellie

Kellie tries to improve quality of life, while lowering cost & simplifying ['mostly: let's Not do expensive rocket science every day']. So: high quality @ lower cost & simplified when possible. Some experiments work better than others; I plan to share how the experiments go in my blog(s).
