Post #12 Basics: Enjoying Healthier Food, & Exercise

Sharing some of my own, personal, basic frugal thoughts here.
My own Frugal Budget is an ongoing & interesting exercise, as I decide which purchases seem necessary for a reasonably pleasant & healthy life. Avoidable illness can cause major expenses that I wish to steer clear of. Healthier food & exercise choices exist on a cost spectrum. There are almost always less expensive & still effective options.
My basic wish: healthspan as well as lifespan. I am far from perfect in my choices (yet); I take happiness from making steady improvements, small or large steps.
One of my personal projects has been to search out healthier food choices when I get a craving for certain snacks. Example: I have been unable to eliminate my ice cream cravings (I have slowed my sugar cravings down greatly; yay). When I do indulge, I look for the ice cream choices (on sale) with higher grams of protein count, lower sugar & fat count; sometimes I enjoy frozen greek yogurt dessert.
Many will agree that a weekly exercise plan is of primary importance & for many of us this doesn’t have to be complex or expensive (and regarding exercise: when in doubt if it’s right for you, your doctor can advise you). Example: daily walking has been found to contribute to good health for many people .

I find that improving both my cooking skills & my frugal grocery buying skills can be very rewarding. One of my frugal buying ways: I choose to enjoy the foods that are currently on sale; it provides me variety & sometimes new foods/brands to try. I go into my store(s) noting what’s on sale (that also appeals to me), & I set out to get the most enjoyment out of those choices. I “go with the low-price flow”.

Kellie tries to improve quality of life, while lowering cost & simplifying ['mostly: let's Not do expensive rocket science every day']. So: high quality @ lower cost & simplified when possible. Some experiments work better than others; I plan to share how the experiments go in my blog(s).
